Elf Reports - What Does A Scout Elf Do?
Don't Know What Your Scout Elf is Doing at Night? Keep 'em Busy with Paperwork
You've decided to take part in the new fun tradition of leaving a little elf to act as an observer of nice and naughty behaviors this Christmas season. To many these elf observers are known as scouts, and they serve as a great way to get little believers to watch their behavior leading up to Christmas day.
Usually while the kids are at home you can find these tiny observers perched atop a fireplace mantle, staircase or bookshelf, sitting perfectly still with a happy expression on their faces. It's said, while not moving, the observer watches and takes note of all good deeds and mischievous acts.
In the morning the elf observer scout disappears and is said to be off to deliver the days report to Santa himself. For the true believer, this elf acts as a reminder to remain on their best behavior because Santa is watching.
To prove it, your scout elf may leave something behind. For many it is a small elf report, filled out by his or her little elf hands. However, your tiny observer is rumored to get into a little trouble of his or her own. Just what does a scout elf do when no one is watching?
Some say they can be caught is funny poses as they move around at night and have to stand perfectly still if someone awakes. Others say if you leave them a gift like clothing, they will change into their new outfit. They probably have been known to use a little magic here or there to keep themselves entertained, so your elf may need help in being kept on task.
You can provide your elf with a fresh elf report each night to complete for Santa. This will keep your elf busy with the paperwork needed to do his best job. Include details from the Elf Report in a Santa Letter Package, then leave evidence of Santa's visit for your child to find. You'll also be creating magical memories for you child, by making the tradition of the scout elf observer real.
